The first project after graduation was to install a frequency agility system on the Hongqi 2 guidance radar vehicle. The Department of electronics of Tsinghua University is the leading unit, and the person in charge is Mao Yuhai. Born in a scientific family, he is the nephew of Mao Yisheng, a famous bridge scientist, and the new childe of Mao Yisheng, a construction mechanic. In that special era, because of overseas relations, he was unable to participate in confidentiality projects, so he had to study his business, buried himself in consulting domestic and foreign materials, and wrote the monograph frequency agile radar, which immediately became a classic in China's radar anti-jamming system. The prototype developed by the team won the first prize of national technical invention in 1984.

Other teachers, such as Peng Yingning, Shan Xiuming and Liu Baoqin, have only seen them in textbooks in the past. Now they have come out one by one and become partners in the project. That year, in 1984, the Department of electronics of Tsinghua University moved back to Beijing soon, so from their words, we can often hear Mianyang and the former Tsinghua branch. In the northern suburb of Mianyang, a slope of about 1000 mu has been built into the Mianyang Branch of Tsinghua University, with a construction area of 300000 square meters, relatively perfect teaching, scientific research and practice facilities and complete living, medical and educational environment.

At that time, I was not familiar with Mianyang. I only knew that in the distant hometown Province, there was a Mianyang area governing 19 counties and cities, where many third tier enterprises gathered. It was not until 15 years later that Changhong became popular in China and Mianyang became more and more famous that I decided to work there. After being introduced by others, I came here. Southwest Institute of technology is the school of building materials moved out of Dashan, Shimian County after the Mianyang Branch of Tsinghua University moved back to Beijing. It is integrated with the alumni of Tsinghua University in Mianyang. I remember when I called to consult Mr. Xue Baoxing. He was the vice president of Tsinghua industry company and was in charge of famous enterprises such as Tongfang, Ziguang and Tsinghua publishing house, but he still talked about Mianyang.

Before long, the Western Institute of technology was going to be renamed Western University of science and technology, and the major of electronic information engineering was added. As a new professional teacher, I have done many scientific research projects in the past, but I am completely unfamiliar with the teaching process. The school sent me to study in the Department of electronics of Tsinghua University. In about a year, I listened to nearly 10 courses and obtained 20 credits. As a famous university, Tsinghua is impressive. Whether it is a long school running history or an important position in domestic colleges and universities. No matter the teaching order, scientific research atmosphere, cultural activities and campus scenery, they are always bringing me novelty. The plot of the branch school, which is still scattered throughout the electronics department, is the most moving.

The first autumn outing was to Yangtai mountain scenic spot in Mentougou. I was arranged to sit in the front row with two respected gentlemen, Wu Youshou and Zhou Bingkun. Academician Wu can be said to be the founder of China's digital communication. He has been the director of the Department of electronic engineering of Tsinghua University for a long time. As long as he studies radio in China, he is not unknown. Academician Zhou is an optoelectronic scientist. I remember when my son was a child, he bought him a set of "talking about science with Grandpa scientist", in which the laser volume was written by grandpa Zhou Bingkun. This time, I accompanied them all the way, looking up at the Millennium ginkgo biloba in Dajue temple, climbing Miaofeng Mountain and looking at the red leaves all over the mountain. All we said along the way were sentimental and meaningful stories of Mianyang.

Teacher Huo Yanyan is from Mianyang. She and her husband, Professor Hu Sizheng, bring fruit to the dormitory to see me almost every week. She also gives me Dahongpao tea from teacher Hu's hometown, which makes me feel the beautiful mountains and rivers in the South during the long winter in the north. The most impressive one was that Mr. Huo broke his bike. It was my classmates and I who took her to Jishuitan Hospital, stayed late at night to finish the operation, and then sent her back to the faculty dormitory near the southwest gate to carry her upstairs together, which made us contact for a long time later. Now, Mr. Hu has died for many years, and Mr. Huo is seriously ill. Looking back on the past period of time, I feel sad.

I took a group of photos in the old campus and sent them to my circle of friends. I actually received a lot of replies. In addition to those students who graduated early, I lamented that "carved fences and jade masonry should still exist, but Zhu Yan changed". The old gentlemen from Tsinghua sent me questions one by one. "The lighted three storey building is the teacher's dormitory left by the branch school, isn't it?". "Is the winding stone step under the ginkgo tree the way from the old library to the back mountain?". Professor Zhou Zucheng even returned hundreds of words at one breath. How did you send the child to the nursery? How do you watch red light in the amphitheater? Li Yuhe is less than 1.6 meters and Li Tiemei is 1.7 meters. The explanation was vivid and the description was clear.

I took an elective course in FPGA and digital circuit design by teacher Zhou once a week and was arranged on Thursday night. More than 200 people can come to the classroom of 150 people each time, and the old economic management lecture hall in Wennan building is full. FPGA was a new technology in that year. Mr. Zhou gave his first lecture in Tsinghua. He also promoted the school competition supporting the curriculum into a national invitational competition led by Tsinghua and participated by other key universities, and then upgraded it to a Chinese graduate electronic design competition, which has become one of a series of innovative competitions recognized by the degree center of the Ministry of education. Although Mr. Zhou retired for many years, his portrait is hung at the scene of the national finals every year.

In the year of further study, I received the most education from Mr. Yang Zhixing. I not only heard his lecture "optical fiber communication", but also because he chose the laboratory at the beginning. Later, he won the first prize of the national scientific and technological progress award twice, and twice participated in the second round. He was the person in charge of formulating the national digital TV standard. Later, I met him again at a project demonstration meeting in Changhong company. He was an industry authority and argumentation leader at that time, and I was a temporary invited expert. Wutong, I took him back to school and speak freely on the old plane of the old plane. Mr. Yang is very low-key and never talks. He can only talk about the past years.

I remember once, when the chimney of the boiler room in the campus period was demolished, red bricks and blue stones were piled in the rain, which made Mr. Yang very unhappy. Later, I repaired the elevator apartment and demolished almost all the faculty dormitories during the campus period. I never took him back here. Until January 2018, at the age of 70, Mr. Yang won the first prize of the national science and technology progress award again, which caused a sensation in Tsinghua park at that time. Then he applied again for membership of the Chinese Academy of engineering, but failed. In October 2019, on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the campus's return to Beijing, I went to the Department of electronics of Tsinghua again. This time, I found that Mr. Yang had retired home. I called to ask if he'd come yet? He told me not to come again. It makes me feel so depressed and heroic.

When Tsinghua branch moved back to Beijing, Mr. Li Zhengfan did not return to Tsinghua Park, but transferred to Shanghai Jiaotong University. I had no chance to attend his class in Tsinghua, but I invited him to dinner in the back garden of Western University of science and technology. That year, the old man had just finished his retirement procedures and did not disturb anyone. Instead, he took the train of that year and came to Mianyang alone to walk around the old campus of the branch. However, on the way, some employees at that time inadvertently recognized him and called us. I hurried there and drove him from the old area to the new area and saw a lot of places. Chat with him all the way, and take him to the back garden of the school for lunch. After eating, I made green tea and basked in the sun leisurely under the wisteria covered corridor.

I know Miss Li's fame is beyond the reach of many people. What award did the government give him? It's not packaged as an academician? It's a real word of mouth. Several years ago, graduate students spontaneously organized a vote to select the best graduate tutor in China on the Internet. Mr. Li ranked third. He guided his students to obtain national excellent doctoral theses for three times (top 100) and nominated for six times (top 200), including the current Vice President of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the famous academician Mao Junfa. I still remember that afternoon, we all drank some wine and breathed the fragrance of flowers blown by the warm spring wind under the mottled sun penetrating the wisteria flower rack. Mr. Li taught me the way of being a person and a teacher, which benefited me a lot. I am grateful for my life.

Miss Zhou Shuhua, I heard her talk about program control exchange and integrated information network. The cases often refer to Mianyang and plant 407 on Yuejin Road. It was they who developed digital carrier together that gave birth to the earliest program-controlled switching in China. When I chose her class, I liked the West step classroom. Next to the Tsinghua auditorium, not far from Zhu Ziqing's lotus pond, the famous Wen Yiduo sculpture is outside the window. That year, it was 1999, and Macao was approaching its return, so someone came to offer flowers to Mr. Wen Yiduo from time to time. In the early morning when there are classes, every time you look back in class, you will always see one or a bunch of white chrysanthemums or yellow chrysanthemums swaying vividly on the black base. You can't help singing his song of seven sons.

There are also four teachers. Mr. Mei Shunliang and Mr. Wang Jing are here to talk about mobile communication. I see that the original mobile communication terminal is carried in the satchel. Mr. Cao Zhigang and Mr. Liu Xuming are here to talk about the principle of communication. I still keep the exercise answers and thinking questions they copied to me. Every time before and after class or between classes, my favorite thing is to walk in the corridor. I can enjoy the wall newspaper run by students one class by one. It will be updated almost every week. The production of the wall newspaper is not exquisite, but the creation is with heart. Mainly novels and prose, occasional poetry and song scores, coupled with high-quality illustrations. It seems that I saw Gao Xiaosong and Li Jian, updating their works in the corridor of Electronics students.

After class, I went to the Dongda playground. The track and field competition between Tsinghua University, Peking University and Oxford Cambridge was held here in 1999. In those days, not only athletes but also students from other colleges and universities in Beijing suddenly appeared on the campus. They rode automatic cars and pressed the bell all the way, which crowded the vicinity of Dongda playground. I also spent a whole day to see the statue of Ma John. In front of the statue, I learned that Tsinghua people "have to work for the health of the motherland for 50 years". I also learned that Mr. Ma John preached that Tsinghua University once had a school rule, that is, from 4:00 to 5:00 every afternoon, all dormitories, classrooms and laboratories are forcibly closed, and only stadiums and gymnasiums are open.

My laboratory is located on the fourth floor of the East building. I just saw the flag flying on the square of the main building. One of the most eye-catching side is the purple flag of "good virtue and carrying things", printed with the four big words "Tsinghua University". The red flag on the right is also very eye-catching, that is, the flying "Department of Electronic Engineering". At that time, the dean of the Department was Feng Zhenghe. I often went to Mr. Feng's laboratory to see the test antenna. Mr. Lin Xiaokang is the deputy director. He arranged my further study that year. Chen Xu is the Secretary of the Youth League sub committee. She is now the party secretary of Tsinghua University. There is also Luo Shuyun, the teaching secretary. She chooses courses for me and arranges the teacher to log in the results. Zeng LAN, Secretary of scientific research, arranged a laboratory for me and gave me security education.

That year was 1999. Mr. Pan Changyong just stayed in school after graduation. I caught up with his first class. Many supervisors will come to each class. They will send questionnaires to students in class and give feedback and exchange with young teachers after class. Pan Changyong was still in the class to make complaints about the program, but he also won the first prize of national science and technology progress in the past few years. Mr. Wang Xiqin also stayed in the team of mentor Peng Yingning. When he was the director of the Department of Electronics 10 years ago, he came to Mianyang with Secretary Shi Zongkai of the University Party committee to participate in the 100th anniversary celebration of Tsinghua University. Now he is the executive vice president of Tsinghua University. Mr. Jin depeng, the doctor should have not graduated at that time. The 20th anniversary of the campus's return to Beijing was held in 1999. I still remember more than 60 old teachers crying with joy when they returned to Mianyang. In 2019, a series of commemorative activities for the 40th anniversary were held. We welcomed the new leadership of Tsinghua Electronics Department, such as director Huang Yidong. 1999 is also a cross century year, marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of new China. Cycling to Tiananmen Square to watch the parade and moving forward with the jubilant crowd, I think the next century will be particularly beautiful. Perhaps it is with these expectations that the martyrs will be in their twilight years with great ambition and young talents will come to the fore. It has been passed on from generation to generation, worked hard from generation to generation, adhered to from generation to generation and achieved from generation to generation. Only with their collective, can we have our country, stand in the forest of nations in the world and swear to live up to our ancestors.
