I was lucky to get to know Mr. Keven when I was a graduate student. He also bought me two books in the bookstore of Shanghai Library: one is the history of thought in the 20th century, which was published by Shanghai Translation Publishing House in 2006. The author is Watson. The book outlines a vivid and clear history of thought in the 20th century with the clue of shaping and changing the people and ideas of the whole 20th century; One is "social research methods, 10th Edition", a book by Huaxia publishing house, written by (American) Earl Babbie and translated by Qiu Zeqi. The book has a wide range of discussions and strict discussions, from the basic paradigm of social theory to the writing of discipline reports, from the basic concepts of Social Research to various complex technical methods, in simple terms and step by step. After more than 10 years, I read these two books from time to time. For various reasons, although I have no ability to read thoroughly and use flexibly, I often "benefit from opening the book", which can be described as "moistening things silently".

In the graduate study stage, I was an "older graduate student" (I got the opportunity to study again after working for many years). I thought I was "hungry" and cherished these three years, which was not in vain. In the study of research methods, social investigation and research are often new, learning by doing and learning by doing. Among them, "ethical issues in social research" is deeply touched. For various reasons, there is no formal code of conduct in the field of scientific research ethics in China or small. Social research often involves other people's lives and involves ethical issues to varying degrees. Ethical issues in social research include: voluntary participation; Harmless to participants; Anonymity and confidentiality; deception; Analysis and reporting; Institutional review meeting; Professional ethics. Among them, voluntary participation, harmlessness to participants, anonymity and confidentiality are generally popular ethical norms. Other topics are relatively unfamiliar to me. Because of "poor learning", I have suffered in practice. In 2012, I wrote a conference paper and participated in the submission. During the writing process, I interviewed the staff of the institution (Overseas) where the research object is located through e-mail. Before submission, I sent the manuscript to the other party for viewing, which is a report and thanks (there are also thanks at the end of the text). Those who think they are positive and full of "positive energy" are actually related to their vital interests and strongly opposed by the other party, and may have other concerns. Unexpectedly, the other party was furious and embarrassed. Fortunately, problems were found and corrected before formal submission. There are cultural differences and anomie of scientific research ethics in self reflection. It taught me deeply.

In the field of map and information, there is a period when "empirical research" is quite popular. The standardization of research methods was originally a good thing, but the "foundation is not strong". Many "empirical studies" actually have no name or expression. For some time, there were many kinds of questionnaires and interviews. I have done some myself, occasionally as an investigator and more as a participant. "Reciprocity", usually I will actively participate and cooperate. Unless it is true that if participation is a hindrance, I will refuse to participate. If it is convenient to explain, I will take the initiative to explain. A "strange thing" happened recently. A graduate student who was reading sent me an email, hoping that I could help make an expert interview questionnaire and sent me an outline. When I saw the email, I noticed the email reminder on my mobile phone during the meeting. I originally planned to read and reply further after the meeting. When I looked for this email after the meeting, I couldn't find it anymore. I don't know whether it was because the other party withdrew it? (don't think my reply is timely enough?) if it is deleted by mistake, it should still be found in the email. The email only told me that I was a graduate student of XX school, but did not say my specific name. If I told you my specific name, maybe I would "pay a return visit" and ask if I still need my cooperation. For young librarians and young students, as long as time and energy permit, in fact, I am willing and willing to do my bit.

So far, less than three months. I have experienced a series of ethical problems in scientific research. The compilation of chronology requires "cross checking and combing", focusing on the word "check" (AUDIT), it needs to "go up to the poor and fall into the yellow spring, and start looking for things". At present, I plan to further organize and examine academic correspondence. My idea is to do the dead first, and then the living and licensed. During the summer vacation, I preliminarily completed Mr. Qian Yaxin's work. At present, I am working as Mr. Zhang Qiyu's work. Next, I plan to do: Luo Wei, Ni Bo, single line, Li Xinghui, etc. In order to do this, I "alerted" or "affected" many people (dozens), adding a lot of trouble to them and even their relatives. It was only for Mr. Lu, who was 86 years old, to call for 26 minutes on August 21, 45 minutes on September 22 and 36 minutes on September 25. On the evening of September 25, wechat of Mr. Lu's daughter was added to ask her to help deliver the information. Mr. C, the youth librarian, lent me 13 copies of Mr. Li Xinghui's work notes, which he had found on the Internet a few years ago. Many teachers and friends expressed their willingness to provide guidance and help in many ways. In the face of such a "great situation", apart from being grateful and moved, I need to maintain a clear understanding, do something and do nothing, make good use of my limited energy and ability as much as possible, and live up to all the people who give me care and support as much as possible!
