It is found that intensive hypotension in ultra early stage can improve the treatment effect and the accuracy of predicting the consequences of cerebral hemorrhage, which brings a new direction for clinical treatment and scientific research of cerebral hemorrhage.
As one of the important progresses in the field of cerebral hemorrhage in 2020, the related research achievements were written into the 2020 special report on the treatment progress of acute stroke by the international academic journal stroke.
Li Qi, the first author of the paper and associate professor of Neurology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, said that previous studies have shown that intensive antihypertensive treatment is not conducive to controlling hematoma expansion or improving the poor prognosis of patients. However, clinical studies have found that most hematoma enlargement occurs within 2 to 3 hours of symptom onset, rather than 24 hours as traditionally believed.
In response to this finding, Li Qi came to Harvard University to repeatedly compare different antihypertensive schemes for patients with cerebral hemorrhage, and proposed the concept of "time window for antihematoma expansion treatment of cerebral hemorrhage". He found that strengthening antihypertensive therapy in ultra early stage can reduce the risk of hematoma expansion and help to predict the severity of the disease.
This study was published in the international academic journal Neurology chronicle, which was affirmed by the international authoritative stroke expert group. Li Qi was also invited to participate in the first joint conference of European Stroke Society and World Stroke Society, and introduced the experience of treating cerebral hemorrhage within ultra early treatment time window.
